A bit more detail…

Maths

Maths can sometimes seem tricky, and without a solid foundation it can be easy to feel a little left behind and to lose confidence.  My lessons are designed to strengthen understanding, from developing strong number skills and place value, to problem solving and reasoning. This results in a strengthened understanding by closing learning gaps and building long-term confidence.  Each session can be adapted with relevant physical resources and visual models to make abstract concepts clear, accessible and memorable.

English

English comprehension and grammar are essential building blocks for success across the curriculum.  I can offer tailored support to strengthen your child’s understanding of sentence structure, punctuation and vocabulary, while helping them develop key reading and writing skills.  I support children in developing comprehension strategies, from retrieving information to inferring meaning and explaining ideas.

SATs

I can help your child prepare for their SATs in the calm, encouraging environment of your home, focussing on the skills and strategies that they need to feel confident and ready for test day.  My sessions cover all aspects of the English and Maths curriculum, with tailored guidance to strengthen core skills, improve exam techniques and boost confidence.

A bit more about me …

My specialist skills

I have experience in supporting children with a range of additional needs, including autism, dyslexia and attention difficulties.  My approach is calm, patient and highly adaptable, focusing on the child’s individual strengths and learning style.  By creating a supportive and structured environment with a multi-sensory learning programme and relevant resources, I help children build confidence and achieve meaningful progress at their own pace.

My feedback to parents

Your child’s progress is regularly assessed, to ensure learning is targeted and effective.  I provide clear feedback to parents highlighting achievements, areas to work on, and strategies to support learning at home.  Where possible, I will work collaboratively with your child’s class teacher to provide an element of pre-teaching as required to build confidence.
